Why we chose 1 Stone Ministries? When King Saul and the army of Israel was challenged by the Philistine army and it’s champion Goliath, we believe that God imparted not only physical strength and wisdom beyond his age to young David when he still served his father Jesse. He also imparted Kingly strength and wisdom The warriors of Israel, even King Saul were absolutely terrified of the Giant. Well they should be. To get an idea of what they were dealing with. Let’s look at a couple of things we know from history and the bible. In Numbers we read that God encouraged the Israelites by telling them they would be victorious over Og of Bashan. Og’s bed was over 15 feet long. Og was from the same territory as Goliath. They were both Nephilim and they were both between 10-15 feet tall. Based on the report of Goliath’s spear it was the width of the shaft of a weaver’s loom (roughly 2-3 times thicker than the typical spear). The sharp metal portion of the spear weighed between 13-15 pounds all by itself. The armor that he wore on his body weighed around 125 lbs. by itself and he carried sword, shield and spear. So, we read that while the army of Israel was doing everything they could to hide from the shouts and looks of Goliath. Contrast that with David’s reaction. David heard the insults slung at the God and nation of Israel…He went and ran to the nearby brook and gathered 5 stones. Let’s read the story straight from the Bible. 45 Then David said to the Philistine, You come to me with a sword and with a spear and with a shield, but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of the hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast dishonored. 46 This day the LORD will deliver thee into my hand, and I will smite thee and take thy head from thee, and I will give the carcasses of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the heaven and to the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. 47 And all this congregation shall know that the LORD does not save with sword and spear, for the battle is the LORD’s, and he will give you into our hands. 48 ¶ And it came to pass when the Philistine arose and came and drew near to meet David that David hastened and ran to do battle against the Philistine. 49 And David put his hand in his bag and took a stone from there and slang it and smote the Philistine in his forehead, that the stone remained sunk into his forehead, and he fell upon his face to the earth. 50 So David overcame the Philistine with a sling and with a stone and smote the Philistine and slew him, but there was no sword in the hand of David. 51 Therefore David ran and stood upon the Philistine and took his sword and drew it out of its sheath and slew him and cut off his head with it. And when the Philistines saw their giant was dead, they fled. At 10-15 feet tall, Goliath’s head would have been almost as big as David’s upper body and very heavy. We know that David got five stones. Why did he grab five? There was only one giant in the story that was threatening them. This is where it is important to understand the need for history and tradition. Goliath’s 3 brothers and their father were with the Philistine army. David knew this and was prepared to take on Goliath and his family. He was 100% vested in faith and trust and confidence in God. We were originally going to use 5 Stone ministries for our name, but it was already in use on the web and social. We got to thinking about it and we felt confident that a better name for today and the evil growing stronger and stronger in our world… 1 Stone Ministries. There is only 1 stone strong enough to defeat Lucifer and his army of fallen angels and his demonic Nephilim horde. The stone that the builders rejected, Yeshuah Ha’Mashiac of Nazareth. As David stood strong in the desert that day with the five stones he chose, we must stand strong in our day, holding onto the 1 stone. We need to read the Bible to stay rooted and keep getting to know God better. We need to pray for each other. We need to pray for the salvation of the lost. We need to continue to pray for Israel. They have made a lot of mistakes over the last four thousand years, but God still calls them back to himself. There are some who will still come to him yet. There are those like Messianic Rabbi Zev Porat who has a ministry to the people of Israel. He even witnesses to Muslims. There have been thousands of People all over Israel coming to the Lord. We need to pray for him and his team. They have been spat on and stoned and threatened. Zev and his team have an unafraid stance and a passion to speak the truth to the people of Israel. We have been encouraged by his ministry. Most American Christians have had so little spiritual antagonism that they have grown too comfortable in their relative safety in America. People in Israel, Muslim nations, China, Russia and many other locations around the world are being beaten, imprisoned, tortured, in the case of women raped, and many times murdered for their faith in Christ. They will never be silenced. The more they are attacked the stronger they stand with Jesus. They refuse to deny their faith. While American’s haven’t had that kind of strength for their faith for a very long time, they will need to find that inner strength and commitment soon, very soon. There is coming a time when those who don’t agree with the new way, or those who newly come to Christ will have to choose. If you haven’t come to Christ and asked him to forgive you, then we encourage you to email us and we can give you information and encourage you. You don’t want to wait until after Christ comes and takes his people of faith in the Harpadzo. Things will grow dark and scary quickly.
We ask that you stand with 1 Stone Ministries in Prayer.
